Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro best budget phone under Rs.10000

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro best budget phone under Rs.10000

Every smartphone manufacturer tries to bring more and more handsets in the budget segment. In order to maintain its reign in this segment, Xiaomi recently launched three new budget Redmi smartphones in the market. The most powerful handset in the Redmi 6 series is the Redmi 6 Pro. This is the first model outside the Redmi Note series in which Xiaomi has used the name ‘Pro’.

Generally, Xiaomi uses the name ‘Pro’ to refer to powerful hardware. There is no doubt that Redmi 6 Pro comes with the most powerful processor compared to the other two handsets in the Redmi 6 series. But this device has got a different identity due to display notch. It is also the first Redmi phone to come with this feature. Many important specifications of the new model match Xiaomi’s existing Redmi Y2 and Redmi Note 5 smartphones. In such a situation, there is a question in our mind that apart from Notch, what other features does the Redmi 6 Pro come with? Through the review, we will find the answer to this question.

#Design of Xiaomi redmi 6 pro

Being the flagship phone of the Redmi 6 series, an attempt has been made to make the Redmi 6 Pro a bit premium, such as a metal backplate on the rear. However, the overall design is not much different from Xiaomi’s other devices in this price range. The phone is quite thick. It also feels big in the hands. But it is managed. Buttons give good response. On the left side you will find a tray, which has separate slots for two SIM cards and MicroSD card. One thing to note is that Redmi 6 Pro does not have dual 4G VoLTE support, which means that only one SIM can connect to 4G network at a time.

The placement of the port is correct. The mono speaker grille is on the right in the bottom. In such a scenario, when using the phone in landscape mode, its chances of getting blocked are very less. The headphone socket is on the top. There is also an infrared emitter with the help of which the phone can also work as remote control.

We got a black variant review that comes with a matte finish. Fingerprints do not fall easily on this. You will be able to buy Redmi 6 Pro in Blue, Red or Gold colors. The fingerprint sensor is easy to reach and is also effective. There is a vertical dual camera setup on the back side. It is slightly protruding from the surface, but is not inconvenient.

The most important feature of redmi 6 Pro is the 5.84-inch full-HD + display. Contrast and brightness levels are sufficient. Xiaomi told us that the display also has a layer of tanned glass. Which company does it belong to? It did not tell. The display area has increased due to the notch. But the bezels at the edges are still quite wide. Chin is quite wide at the bottom. According to us, the design of this phone is not very attractive. At the same time, for some reason Xiaomi has placed the notification LED in a strange place. It is in the bottom left corner of Chin in a corner, while there is a lot of space in the notch.

In the retail box, a cover of Redmi 6 Pro handset, SIM ejector tool, USB cable and 10 watt power adapter will be available.

#Xiaomi redmi 6 pro specification and software

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor has been used in the phone, which is two years old, but is still fully capable of common tasks. Gaming performance is not very great. The PUBG game runs in the lowest graphics settings by default. Even after that the gameplay is not very smooth. Our review unit was running on the pre-release version of the MIUI software. For this reason we were unable to do most of the benchmark tests. Xiaomi gave us this information that the software would be almost the same.

Two variants of xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro have been made available. One has 32 GB of storage with 3 GB of RAM. The second one has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which we have reviewed. The phone has support for Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band 802.11 Wi-Fi A / B / G / N, GPS, USB-OTG and GLONASS. The gyroscope, ambient light sensor, compass and accelerometer are part of the smartphone. It also has FM radio, but no NFC support.

Our review unit was running on MIUI 9.6 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone was accompanied by a July security patch. If Xiaomi believes, all the phones in the Redmi 6 series will get an update of the MIUI 10 in the future.

In mIUI, many gestures and customizable functions have also been given in Redmi 6 Pro, which we have come across earlier. Xiaomi has also given the facility to hide the notch. The system is not always able to scale the reduced aspect ratio properly. Due to masking we found that some menu buttons and some content were being cut in many apps. Face unlock is also provided which works well under most circumstances, except for pitch darkness.

#Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro performance, camera and battery life

In general use, Redmi 6 Pro is very smooth. The interface does not look awkward. Face recognition would be faster. The phone does not heat up. Casual games work well. But games with more powerful graphics have to be played in medium or low settings. We found that despite having 4 GB RAM, the load time of the games was more than expected. Multi-tasking between apps is not always very smooth. The touch response of the display is good. Colors are Vivid and Panchi. Because of this, the video viewing experience on the Redmi 6 Pro is fantastic.

Audio performance is also good when using headphones. But the speaker does not make very loud sound. The stock music player comes with Hungama Music Integration. At the same time, in addition to the default video player local files, YouTube’s trending music video also shows as a suggestion.

#Camera of Xiaomi redmi 6 pro

A camera is 12 megapixels in the dual rear camera setup provided in the vertical position. It is equipped with F / 2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus. Autofocus works very fast in sufficient light. There is also Auto HDR which does a good job of balancing exposure. There was no lack of detail in the landscape shot in daylight and the colors also came in breathtaking. The primary sensor is slightly lagging in taking macros shots. The white balance in the close up shot is always correct, then never. We are often forced to tap to focus to correct the white balance. HDR photos also took some time to save. Due to this, taking blur free shots at night was not easy.

Autofocus speeds drop significantly in low light. It takes longer to save a regular image. The suggestion would be to keep HDR off, otherwise it will take more time to save the pictures. Details are lost due to noise reduction process. Colors also fall.

The camera app is simple and easy to use. Portrait mode is also available, which is possible due to the secondary 5 megapixels. However, edge detection is extremely average. You cannot determine the level of background blur before or after taking a shot. The 5-megapixel selfie camera takes decent selfies insufficient light. But due to lack of screen flash, the pictures in low light are granular.

The video performance is also decent. Stabilization works well. You will be able to record videos of maximum 1080 pixels.

#Battey if Xiaomi redmi 6 pro

Battery life is one of the important features of the Redmi 6 Pro. The 4000 mAh battery easily lasted for a day. A little battery remains for the second day. Battery consumption is not very high when playing games with powerful graphics. In our video loop test, the battery died after 16 hours and 45 minutes, which would be considered very good. The phone does not have support for fast charging. But the 10 watt charger provided with it gives 55 percent battery life in an hour. It took about 2 hours and 35 minutes for the battery to be fully charged from zero.

#6 Our decision

If you look at the current phone of Xiaomi’s Redmi series, then Redmi 6 Pro does not offer a very strong claim. There is no major drawback, but it does not offer anything very new or different than the Redmi Note 5. And the same variant of Note 5 with RAM and storage is also cheaper by Rs 1,000. You also have the Redmi Y2 in the price of Redmi 6 Pro, whose front camera is better. But you have to compromise the display resolution and battery capacity. If seen, Xiaomi has created confusion about its own portfolio.

However, Notch is in demand these days. We think many people would like to buy the Redmi 6 Pro just for this feature. If you are not very much interested in Nokia, then we would suggest you to buy Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 or Redmi Note 5 instead of Redmi 6 Pro.
